Reading your poetry out loud to a room full of strangers sounds pretty nerve wracking!
As poets or performers, we are encouraged to grow through the uncomfortable in order to develop our craft and finely hone our artistic skills. Sometimes this is more easily said than done. Following a slick, flawless poetry recital by a skilled wordsmith can be incredibly daunting and enough to give the most confident person the pre-performance jitters!
At Pompey Poetry Party we are dedicated to ensuring every poet or writer feels welcomed and supported when showcasing their work. We hope to offer a caring and nurturing space for creatives to grow and try new things.
If you are a nervous speaker, please attend one of our poetry events. You are under absolutely no obligation to perform, but should you wish to give it a go, you will be met with lots of encouragement! We aim to make all newcomers feel at home and will support you every step of the way.
