The next poet battling for a place at The Cheltenham Poetry Festival Grand Slam is none other than the brilliant Ashley David John

@ashleydavidjohn

Ashley John is an artist from Pompey - At this moment his individual practice uses collage and text-based works to explore current social and political issues.

The collages repurpose found textures, ephemera, and discarded materials whilst text-based works frequently culminate as hand-drawn poems; these are often placed publicly as a form of gentle disruption. Also, when the mood suits - these poems are sometimes said out loud.

'Slam at The Emporium' takes place on Thursday 20th February at The Emporium Bar Southsea. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Free Entry.
